sell your body, soul, firstborn, etc....

This is the opposite of the last thread i created... what have you bought or seen lately that you would recommend people not miss out on??? What is the must have CD??? Must see movie??? Must attend show??? This could be a new release or a hard to find classic... an up and coming band or an established legend!

My friend took me to U2 for my birthday this year and I have to say I have never been that into them... but WOW 8o they put on one HELL of a show... I plan to see them again when they return in the fall!!!

Sooo... what can you add???

Re: sell your body, soul, firstborn, etc....

My "must have CD" is ...uhm... ?( I guess what i´m listening the most time to... At the moment is it "Covenant - Northern Light" and "The Crüxshadows - Ethernaut"...
Yeah, I guess this are my "must have CDs" :)

The absolutly "must see movie" is "Bowling for Columbine" or "Fahrenheit 9/11", IMO.

The "must attend show" is hard to say. There are a lot good performing bands. But I have to go to a show of Lacrimosa or Children of Bodom again!!!

Well, I couldn't say that I could point out a "must have cd", because I'm not into music that much, anymore... but lately, I listen quite a lot to "Mr. Bungle - California". For me, that album is something different, enough said.
As for the movies... hmm, I could name "Hero" as such. I realise that not too many people are in chinese movies the way I am, but Ying Xiong is just BEAUTIFUL movie! I really love it.
And a must do thing for me is traveling 3000 km to be with my beloved ;)
And thats it. :)
house?!

RE: sell your body, soul, firstborn, etc....

some favorites:

Movies: Best in Show, the original versions of The Eye and The Ring.

Music: Can't really say, I think we all must own Europa :D I do love Fross' Convergence Sets and think everyone should download and listen! 8 is my favorite, and it always brings back tons of memories!

Shows: a Wim Delvoye art exhibit, preferably Cloaca or here, if it ever comes around again.
and for anyone who takes themselves or this type of music too seriously, they must see And One live. :)

For sure these are my recommendations for Must see Movies -

One Hour Photo , The Day The Earth Stood Still , Fight Club , and The first two Planet of the Apes Movies (The originals).
This Prison We Call Time is Spherical and Without Exits. What will happen to me, has already happened to me. And so I am here unafraid, becoming conscious to this moment that existed even before the one before it.

I saw the same show here in NYC at the Limelight! It was pouring down. Doors opened two hours late and we all got kinda soaked, some more than others. I waited across the street at Barnes & Noble for an hour until the down pours stopped -- so didn't get THAT wet. But the show was amazing! and being all wet didn't stop anyone from having a great time. I think I left at 1:30 AM ish.. and by that time I had been standing in 5" New Rocks for 5.5 hours... I wish I would have stuck around after to hang out some more, but I was pooped from working all day.

*Bump*

I like threads like these, like how niki_6784 said to me in the member introduction forum about finding out about new music via the "What are you listening to thread" this is a good way to find out about music, movies and what not.

Must see movies for me (if you're into bizarre shock horror) is Ichi the Killer (or alot of director Takashi Miike's films) Battle Royale, Old Boy and Audition.

Those are all Asian shock/horror movies. erichazann since you like The Eye and Ring you might be interested to take a look at some of those movies, they at least warrent a rental if you can find them around any shops.

Also since you brought up Best in Show, you must have had to seen Waiting for Guffman and A Mighty Wind (directed by the same guy), you should totally check those out as well... and how could I forget to mention Mr. Show!
