The jaunt from Oudenaarde to Waregem was... er.. a little stressful so I would like to try to ensure I don't get almost stranded again!

Depends who you book with - I check the small print now after a girl i work with nearly got charged . I've never really travelled much around Belgium but I love travelling around Germany (except maybe trying to get out of Glauchau).
We are looking at either flying direct to Cologne on the Wednesday (flights don't go from Edinburgh on a Thursday ?( ) or flying to Dusselldorf on Thursday and getting the train down. I would look into booking the hotel if you can, simply because it is the hotel all the UK contingent I know are looking to book and it will be in demand. :-]

Very poor indeed. The :!: :schimpf: :mauer: idiots at the airport lost my keyboard, so I had to borrow one from the very kind people of the Spanish opening band, but it didn't help much since I had no time to program it. So instead of my kool vocoders and little special tricks I was confined to doing boring keyboard lines and trying to look like I enjoyed it. Luckily Eskil and Daniel did a fine show, so I guess it was ok in the end. But not the most exciting gig for me personally. Hence the somewhat withdrawn posture.

Sorry, but that´s what I like very very much.... when musicians have to improvise.

The supporters/fans are able to see the "real musicians".

....but I hope your keyboard was found afterwards. :-]

Yeah, that's a point. But I imagine the fun and flow of improv might be trumped by the stress of working on unfamiliar equipment while simultaneously wondering if yours is coming back!

RE: Covenant Spain pictures

:(
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the show as much - it was shame about your kit not showing up but I was impressed that you managed to put on such a good show without it. (Next time get the train - it's fab :D )
I admit I did find the Madrid show a bit more fun but that I put that down to being a bit more rested and having a clue as to where I was going.

As for the picture i thought it was quite nice actually - i put the dour look down to my talent for capturing people at the least opportune moments (my boyfriend will testify to the fact that I have some truly OUTSTANDING pictures of him!! ).

I did get a couple but the quality was so poor (very hazy, out of focus etc) - I may have something from the London show tho - let me have a look through my discs

I had plans to post photos of Seabound playing last night but as I have been career-obssessed in the last half year, I ended up staying at the office late.

*sigh*

...sadly, I regret to inform that my happy, pseudo-globetrotting ways have come to a grinding halt for now. circumstances prevent me from visiting Europe, at least during the summer. so no Amphi for me. and I really needed the break, too. :( ;(

but, there will be other times and who knows what lies ahead for me in fall.

lepand, I will be with you in spirit- drink a nice, big beer for me will you? hell, drink five! ;)

It would have been so great to make it together!

so now I should start saving money as soon as I get back so we can go to amphi 2009 or at least to make the Thelma & Louise trip...

I will drink more than five, believe me darling 8)
Maybe I can make that t-shirt and take some self portraits to send you. :D

I made tacos today in your honor. Flora says hi :)

Believe me, I know. I was seriously, seriously trying to see if I could. Class schedule just won't allow it here in the summer semester. And I'm training a bunch of new people in my workplace on a bunch of new things.

~yes!~ I am not kidding. In fact, perhaps we shall be able to combine them together- Thelma and Louise Go To Europe!
