Glad to see this moved to the Gossip section, btw!)

Yeah, me too. I admit a goofy fondness for when the threads morph. But I imagine that does tend to get on the mods' nerves after a while... sorry mods! *smiles meekly*

Oh yes, sometimes the morphed threads end up being really entertaining and free form. I'm speaking socially though and totally support sticking to this section on the forum for the sake of organization. ;)

I think in honor of the way this one turned out, I'll try and get myself some absinthe (sans fae) in Detroit tonight then ask random people their birthdates. :D < I'll make that face when I ask, too.

Put you hands up for Detroit? Happy weekend everyone!

Never let a good conversation die, no? ;)

My trip to Detroit was majorly detoured when a friend decided to throw a house party last minute. Came back to Chicago, found my usual club/bar doesn't know how to water down asinthe, and yet I randomly asked one gentleman his birthday only to find out we were born the same day two years apart. :D

Behold the power of Vodka. And yes, that does relate to Mondays in my book. ;)

No good thread dies within 3 days. ;)
And this one is an excellent one! We'll keep it alive until someone stops us.

I believe we need more senseless conversation at this forum. :)

Oh Ford! It´s alive! It´s Alive!!!

And it´s saying "join me or dieeeeeee!"

My monday... I started smoking again and my hair is "my little pony like" pink

Would you come to my birthday if I invite you? I have it all planned, there´s a service here called "el trencito de la alegría" (little train of joy) that is a train-shaped bus for 45 people with those annoying christamas lights and music and drinks. That train takes you and your friends to a groovy city tour. It´s like a moving bizarre party. And the party includes some guys dressed like pink panther, barney, the smurfs... you choose the characters. Or you can just choose strippers :D

You bring the absinthe.

Wow, that reminds me of a one very drunk night about ten years ago ...

How disappointing would stripping Smurfs be?

So, we can keep the Barney stripper. Rumors says he is "all" violet. We can add a snow white like in rammstein´s video. Nice mix...

OR we can ask for 6 smurfs and make gold out of them. Then we can buy more beer and also get the hole Sesame Street staff just for us. I keep Elmo for myself, and of course Big Bird.

Should I tell you when my birthday is? couse THAT would be a problem

I don't think they do. :( And my usual spot for drinks, Kit Kat Lounge, has it but doesn't actually water it down, which it really should be if you actually like the flavors in absinthe. Some people drink it straight and undiluted but then it just tastes like anise.

I should mention that I don't actually know a lot about booze beyond my few usual drinks. My first experience with absinthe was in Japan, of all places, and it inspired me to read up on it. And one of my good friends always drinks it mixed with Red Bull before going out dancing. :D

The sale of real absinthe is prohibited in the States. So no place is going to be serving it. Not the real stuff anyway.

I've had what was proposed to be "real" absinthe (it wasn't), and oh god do I hate hate hate the taste. I cannot abide anise or black liquorice in any capacity. My own personal hell consists of being forced to imbibe these noxious substances. (no offense to anyone who likes them, heh!)

The attraction of Red Bull is also something else that eludes me. Perhaps I'm rather pedestrian in my tastes... ;)

Note to self, re: good-natured and probably somewhat naiive amusement on the morphing of threads: be careful what you wish for!! Not that I'm complaining mind you. Merely an observation... carry on, carry on, don't mind me... ;)

Yes, I know that Absinthe in banned is America. There are always ways around that. I also do not like Red Bull, and I have always wanted to meet a Smurf. You never know what is real or not.

Sometimes you get NO fortune, which is a little disconcerting...

I think the weirdest one I ever got was "For good luck, better wait 'til spring". Of course it was something like early fall when I got it, so I'm thinking "Great, I'm screwed!!" :(

"We write our own future". That is why once I made my own fortune cookies. That was my luckiest year! I wrote lucky phrases and and universal truth phrases like "Easter bunny does not exist and God is Kraftwerk" or just the classics "do not spit on the floor", "gay who reads", "for the power of greyskull"....

You should try it :perfekt:

Oh geez, that must have been a total downer! Even though I don't much put stock into them, sometimes we look for little signs or words of wisdom to reaffirm all the stuff inside.

Well, I get spooky fortunes every so often and some actually repeat in odd ways. Once I got three identical fortunes in one cookie while at dinner with someone I was dating long-distance and sparsely saw. They all read, "Don't wait too long." Surely a week later he backed out of moving in together after we had apartment hunted and traveled vast distances together. Luckily, I didn't wait and had already found another backup apartment in another city. He would have left me high and dry if I had waited!
