 I remember he spoke to a video camera at the front left of stage, but I couldn't make out what he was saying. Now I know!

Watched a couple White Mice clips on YouTube as well while I was at it. Still figuring out what I think. There are some elements I like, and many I don't.

In any case, sounds like they've listened to a lot of Boredoms/Painkiller/John Zorn!

Awww, looks like the video was removed from YouTube...

If you didn't get a chance to see it, it was a video clip from the Dallas show. Ogre approaches the camera, squats down to look directly into it, grins, and says:

O: "You're gonna give us a copy of this, aren't you?"

Flustered CameraPerson: "Wha'???"

O: "You're gonna give us a copy of this aren't you?"

FCP: "*muffled something or other, obviously an assent*

O, grinning more, clasping his hands together and backing up to return to the show: "You promise? You PROMISE?"

FCP: <----silence; response either muffled, or too surprised to say anything to begin with

O: "You promise! You promise!"- and then he points to the FCP, smiles, and returns to the show.

The most amusing things to me were how he took up the whole frame when he was talking to the camera, and that he was so conversational. Relatively clear shots too. You see Skinny Puppy, Ogre performing, then all of a sudden he breaks "out of character" and marches over the to camera with a grin. Hee.

I like the tour title.

Especially given all the SPV speculation threads.

Hm, have to admit that I can't see the link between tour title and SPV. Would you like to enlighten this forgetful old fart?

If attending any of the shows, bring earplugs! They usually play around 133-136 dB.

New Interview:

Zitat

Ogre: I think there is always kind of a similar art to Skinny Puppy tours. There is a theatrical element and a visual element. We are pushing our visual thing, so we are doing a full stage immersion, visually and with how were going to use lighting. Thematically, the show is kind of touching on both the alienation and kind of faceless black void that is racism in this country. We are kind of touching on that a bit, to a certain degree, because I was influenced by something a few months ago. I got a bug in my head and started seeing little bits starting to creep out of the crock-pot, that showed racism in this country is a bit of a problem. But the bottom line with the show without getting to preachy, it's actually more a visual and contextual show. It has analogies based on that [racism] but overall it's more of a visual, interesting to look at show. I would call it more abstract. But as for a direct theme for the show, it certainly isn't all about racism. It kind of evolves backwards into half the reason why.

RE: Skinny Puppy - In Solvent See / US Tour Dates

The San Francisco show was out-fucking-standing. No spoilers from me, but i will say it was the second best (post-reunion) show i've seen them do in terms of song selection and Ogre's performance. Not to be missed by die-hard fans.

The setlist looks pretty crazy, excited because three of the songs that I really wanted to hear since 2004 live, are finally being played this time around. Plus, the show itself looks completely unreal.

Ah yes, feel kinda spoiled as this is going to be the third time seeing them, and it's probably the best tour they have ever done. No new material, but Tim Hill on visuals + Hiwatt Marshall doing live mixing , that in addition to everything else = !!!!!!!!!.

By the way, if you have not seen these, they are probably the best recorded footage available from the 2007 tour.

Ilex011 and I were wondering just exactly what was going on when this guy came out of nowhere and stormed the area by the stage with a professional video camera. Happy to see that some of the footage surfaced!

For the Dallas show, the live crew found a way to make use of the 2 huge screens on both sides of the stage. Total immersion.
