Dead Stars V1.0 (Rough Mix)

What is the story on this track? For those who haven't heard it, this was released on a CD for Sonic Seducer magazine back in the Fall of 1999 as a teaser for the USOM album. Basically it is Dead Stars with all the music being played using cheesey General MIDI-type sounds. A few of the elements close to the final production were there.

So, is this how Covenant used to write songs? Rough it out with the elementary sounds and polish it up later? Or was it all a joke??

Was ist die Geschichte dieses Stückes? Für die, die es noch nicht gehört haben, es wurde damals im Herbst 1999 auf einer CD im Sonic Seducer veröffentlicht als Werbung für das USOM-Album. Im Grunde ist es Dead Stars mit all der Musik, die man spielen kann, wenn man alberne, allgemeine MIDI-Type Sounds benutzt. Es gibt ein paar Elemente, die dem Endprodukt sehr nahe kommen.

Also, ist das die Art, wie Covenant Songs schreiben? Grob entworfene, elementare Sounds, die später aufpoliert werden? Oder war das alles nur ein Scherz?

Dear TZ,

Sorry, it wasn't a joke, it was my first demo of the song and I really liked it. But you are right, it sounds strange. I had tried something different with a more acoustic approach. No one else liked it and I had to fight for the song. When Joakim later came up with the characteristic drums and the sweeping string sound everything just perfectly matched and evolved into something larger.

Lieber TZ,

Sorry, aber das war kein Scherz, es war mein erstes Demo von dem Song und es hat mir sehr gefallen. Ich habe etwas anderes versucht, mit einer etwas mehr akustischen Einstellung. Keiner mochte es und ich musste für diesen Song kämpfen. Als Joakim später mit den charakteristischen Drums und dem schwungvollen String-Sound dazu kam, passte alles perfekt zusammen und entwickelte sich zu etwas Größerem.
