The Commodore 64 is still used by a lot of chipmusicians, such as myself. I don't own a real one, but I've been experimenting with composing on my emulator.

Is the PC able to simulate the real C64 sound?

Since each SID chip sounds unique, a PC can never truly emulate an authentic SID sound, but it can emulate a sort of "standard" SID sound which is close to how most SID chips sound.

There´s a work by Anthony Rother called "Little Computer People" (as the C64 game)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3-BEqWX0Kc

I could not find much info to share with you about it, but you can check it out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3-BEqWX0Kc

As far as I know, he uses sounds of the C64. But I didn´t find data in the internet to backup this statement :)

I guess this is one of a lot of musicians using this kind of sounds.

@d_h
maybe Mark Ryden has young fans because of this fairy land spirit that he has
he is kind of obscure tough

I would also recommend Lori Earley also :)

I have it too, in "e-mule" version :D
Maybe you can check in your cd´s booklet to see if it says how they use (if they use) the C64?

He is unique. And remembering the picture that posted d_h, if I were man and I could draw like this, I would definitely use that mustache :cool:

Someone please inform me how Mark Ryden is connected to Commodore 64 or technology in general?
