Sorry for speaking English in a German thread, but the DVD has been delayed because we want to incorporate material from the US part of the tour as well. We will start cutting it this week actually. It's a monumental job. We have several hundred hours of video to go through and decide upon. But it will most probably be the best live DVD ever made, so patience will be rewarded. ;)

We actually discussed that as well. Most probably it will be a double DVD plus a live CD thrown in just because we can. At this point everything is a bit uncertain so I won't make any promises, but if it goes our way it really will be a killer release.

Oh excellent news! I sincerely hope you include footage from the San Antonio show; re: Eskil's stagedive, Burger King offering a tray of jello shots... you can see it made an impression on some of us, ha ha...

sieht so aus, als ob es eine heftige US-Tour war -

nett wäre es, wenn auch was von Lahr (04/2006) dabei wäre,
ist aber wohl eher unwahrscheinlich, weil das kein Gig der
Skyshaper-Tour war...

looks like it has been a great tour (stagediving and burger king...).

@Covenant: good news!

Maybe the admins can split this thread to start an English thread with the non-German postings here? ;) I have no mod-rights in this subforum, unfortunately...

I think it's for the better if the DVD is going to be delayed to include stuff from the US tour, for various reasons.

As far as I know the Cologne show was the only one of the European gigs that was professionally filmed. And I remember that the band wasn't exactly happy with the gig - probably the gig chosen for filming was simply too early into the tour. So, if more shows will be included, the better anyway. That might also mean that we will get a wider range of songs, and stuff like that. :)

And I'm not sure if it's a clever idea for a band like Covenant to release stuff in Christmas time. Everybody says that X-Mas is perfect for sales but to be honest the shelves of the stores are packed with so many stuff because *everybody* releases something at the end of the year! As storage place isn't unlimited in the shops they will rather give mainstream stuff and all the best ofs which are released every Christmas, because that's the stuff the record stores make big money with.
So, a DVD release earlier next year may give Covenant more display in the shops as well as in the media, because there aren't so many other releases. ;)

I had a similar idea.
So everybody can change their unmeant x-mas presents and get the Covenant DVD instead :)

I consider it a bright idea as I suppose there are many people here including me, who doesn't speak so good German, but are interested in the news :)

Well, I think it also depends on whether or not the shows in the US were recorded professionally (audio). There is no way acceptable sound was recorded on the little DV cameras! I always figured they would montage the footage over sound recorded elsewhere. Who knows...

I tried to talk to fans on the camera in NY, but for the most part, it was WAY too loud and way too dark.

Well, that's what most bands do anyway when they compile a live DVD. There is a lot of postproduction anyway and synchronizing visual stuff with audio from another date/source is one of the easier jobs, I guess.

Just watch the VNV Nation DVD, they even didn't try to hide that but deliberately chose to make it a stylistic device for the DVD. The video footage switches from the festival footage to a club show throughat a single song.
Or Depeche Mode's One Night in Paris, which was actually recorded on two nights in Paris.

But I digress...

I know for a fact that a soundboard recording of the SF show exists!!! I would assume there are soundboard recordings of other shows as well... I can't wait to get this DVD(s)/CD set!!!
